This work enjoyed popularity in the 17th century and was reprinted several times, including an English translation that appeared in 1660. Divided into three parts, the first part recounts Le Blanc's voyages to Africa, Asia, America, and the Arctic. Some of the narrative is undoubtedly based on fact, while other parts are fantastical. The second part explores scientific questions, while the third is a French history.
